Blinds company Shades On Wheels celebrated 40 years in the window treatment industry this past summer. The actual 40th anniversary of the Shades On Wheels blinds company was in 2022. Like many companies and individual’s milestone celebrations were on hold during Covid. The official anniversary of the blinds on wheels shop-at-home company took place in Norwell, Massachusetts in July.
Blinds Company Team Members Gather To Reflect
Independently and family-owned Shades On Wheels Hunter Douglas dealers spent the afternoon reflecting on how far their businesses has come. Barbara Thomas, Suzi Garrity, Andy & Kevin Osgood enjoyed a catered lunch with summer beverages as they shared memories. They had a photo shoot to capture the special day.
Barbara Thomas, Owner of Shades On Wheels reflected fondly. “We truly are grateful to our loyal customers. Many homeowners are repeat customers from when we first started in the blinds business. Lots of professional companies in Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut trust us to cover their windows beautifully so patrons are impressed too”.
Shades and blinds have come so far. “The innovations in window treatments are simply amazing”, Barbara said. From Venetian blinds, PVC verticals, to plastic mini blinds, window treatments are a true design statement now. Modern Roman shades, automated shades, light-filtering and room darkening fabrics on the same headrail are game changers. The fabric options are sophisticated and stunning. The automated blind system options are incredible. Tap a mobile device, iPad, or ask a smart speaker device to raise and lower all the shades in your home or place of business. It’s truly effortless, practical and provides child safety, and security.
“To celebrate 40 years in business and be a part of all these product enhancements is so rewarding, Barbara said. Suzi Garrity of Shades On Wheels Greater Boston loves how homeowners include window treatments in their overall interior design plan. She is proud to serve Medfield and surrounding areas in Norfolk, MA. “We are seeing a trend with adding beautiful drapery fabrics and soft treatments to custom Hunter Douglas shades”, said Suzi.
Father & Son Team Join In The Fun
Andy & Kevin, father and son team at Shades On Wheels covering Western Mass and Hartford Connecticut areas expressed gratitude in working together for so many years. “To capture these moments working with my son is very special”, said Andy Osgood. I have been working in the blinds and shades industry teaching my son Kevin all I know. To see him know installing modern shades and custom blinds that make a real design difference in people’s homes makes me proud.
Selling Blinds & Shades A Family Affair
Kevin Osgood the son of Andy remembers the days of going to work with his father. Now he has a wife and two kids he supports with his Hartford Connecticut shop-at-home Hunter Douglas window treatment business. “It’s really wonderful to see how much community support we receive from our own neighborhoods in Wethersfield, Suffield, Connecticut”, said Kevin.
The Shades On Wheels team enjoyed getting together and discussing plans for growth. The 40 year old company plans to offer the same great in-home window treatment service since 1982. Barbara, Suzi, Andy & Kevin thank you for your continued Support of Shades On Wheels. We wish everyone a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season!
